I've known Luke & Michael since before they were born ;) I had the privileged of watching them grow on the other side of the world and now I have the privileged of being in their life while living in Arkansas.
Marissa Schommer you are one of the strongest women I know. I am so proud of the woman you have become and am so excited to be on this journey with you watching our children grow. Who would of thought that we would be here! I am a firm believer in god only giving us what we can handle. You may have had moments when you felt your stumbled but you are still standing strong. You are the best mom to your two boys and they couldnt ask for a better role model in this world.
When my baby was just a teeny tiny baby I ordered bows from an awesome lady named Dawn :) She made the best bows around and they were affordable which is always a plus. When Raeghan turned one we moved to Japan, it was definitely a surprise when I saw Raeghan's photo on a local bow makers website overseas and it was then I realized Dawn was also stationed in Japan with us. Dawn has always been a good friend, she does what she can for the people she loves. She has always helped me no matter the day, time, or cost and I will forever be grateful to have a friend such as her. Dawn has taken on a new adventure of creating interchangeable headbands, she asked me to take some photographs for her and I am so pleased with the new product as well as the images me and Raeghan created. I hope you enjoy and if you are in the market for some headbands, bows, flowers, etc please contact my dear friend Dawn. Her facebook page is located above and her etsy page is: etsy.com/olivebellbowtique
Today, my five year old told me she was ugly...
Words do not describe how sad that made me feel. If there is any kid in the world who thinks they are ugly let me just go ahead and say it. "You are not ugly, you have never been ugly nor could you ever be ugly, you are exactly who you are suppose to be and that is the most beautiful human being alive. You are unique, you are special, and you were created in God's form. Nothing about you could ever be ugly and that is a fact."
That goes out to all you moms out there too, the ones who are thinking "yea right, if she saw me without my makeup on" PA-LEASSSEEEEE I'll say it again, you are not ugly. You could NEVER be ugly because you were created in the form of God. Please encourage your children to see their beauty, not just the outside beauty but the beauty within. My daughter is beautiful, just look at her; but she is so much more than just a pretty face. She is kind, she is loyal, she is sweet, and she is so so so incredibly smart its scary.
My dear Raeghan, this Valentines day I hope you see what everyone else sees. I hope you see the beautiful little girl looking back at you in the mirror. Happy Valentines Day my beautiful gift from God. I love you more today than I did yesterday.
Christmas 2013 I gave away two gift certificates to two lucky families. This is one of them; I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet you guys, it was my pleasure to be the first to photograph you two. I hope you have many more years of happiness and I hope you guys love your photos.
Baby Isaac, before you arrived; you were prayed for, you were longed for, you were loved way before you made your arrival to this world. There are so many people around you that love you and only want the best for you. I hope for only good things for you; I hope you grow up knowing how special you are and just how amazing you are to have two of the best parents in the world to call your own.
The Lawrence family session was a magical one. I could not be happier with how spectacular these photos came out. We went to the same location as Nancy's pregnancy reveal photos as were even able to "recreate" a few photos. Lola was an absolute joy to work with she was so focused and well behaved; such a special dog. Isaac is very lucky to have such an amazing family to call his own.
Mt. Fuji is the largest mountain in Japan, it also happens to be an active volcano and one of the most iconic images known to Japan. It would only make sense to capture a moment in time in front of Mt. Fuji right? Well, It made sense to us. :) I have known Ms. Aria since she was a teeny tiny baby, technically I have known her before that because I knew about her since her mom was pregnant with her, she has never been big on smiling for the camera so it was quite the surprise when I was able to capture these images for the Chatigny family. Aaron, Chelsea, & Aria; I hope you enjoy the moments I have given you; it was my pleasure to spend my day with you guys and snap this moment of history you will have for a lifetime. Soon it will be two beautiful baby girls that you are running after, my only regret is I wont be here to witness that moment in time when your new baby makes her arrival. I wish for only the best for you and your family and wish you all nothing but happiness. Enjoy these moments; these moments are your life.
Sometimes its not about the perfect moment, sometimes its about seeing the perfections in an imperfect moment. Life is not perfect nor will it ever be, that is something we must teach our children, to strive for the best life but not a perfect life. Its okay to fall down, but you must get back up.
Today I spent the afternoon in beautiful Showa Park with the McAlexander Clan. Gabby & Caroline are the greatest! Seriously, they are amazing I just love them, they are sweet, kind, beautiful, well behaved & oh so energetic. However just like all children they get grumpy, hungry, irritable, & cold. While the picture to the left may not be the "perfect photo" for most it is perfect for me, its real. Real moments happen and while you will have a million and one smiling staring straight at the camera photos hanging on your wall, how many will you have with one of your children crying? Probably not many, my point with this is these moments are precious, they are fleeting, before you know it your babies are grown and will soon be off to make their own adventures. Cherish the little imperfect moments because these moments are your life. Gabby & Caroline you two are spectacular, you have the two best parents in the world because they love you both unconditionally and would move heaven & earth for you two. Don't grow up too fast because your parents are just trying to keep up. Jill & Anthony, always cherish the little moments, your babies are little now but they wont be little forever. They are two amazing kids and you are both so lucky to have them, I hope you both enjoy the moments in time I have captured for y'all, it was my pleasure to spend the day with your spectacularly beautiful family.

My dear sweet Raeghan,
You are my inspiration, you are my greatest accomplishment and I will always love you more then you can ever imagine.
everyday you grow more, everyday you learn more, everyday you are changing and becoming more and more like your own person. I used to wish for you to walk, to start talking, to stand on your own. Now I dread the day you learn something new because it is one more step away from me.
I wish for only good things for you. I hope to raise you to know its okay to ask questions;
question everything and anything.
its okay to argue with someone else's idea of correct.
If you don't know the answer, find it.
Live life to the fullest.
Stand up for the weak, be strong
Be a friend to all.
Don't be afraid to stand out.
follow your dreams, not someone elses.
be your own idea of perfect, not societies.
LOVE OUT LOUD.
Love Mom <3
I have personally known Leslie and her little family for two years. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Leslie throughout my time in Japan, I am very sad to see her family go but I know they are off to make new adventures and besides this isn't goodbye, this is see you later! We live in a very small world and I am sure we will see each other again. Best of luck Leslie & Roven, you have a beautiful family! Enjoy watching your children grow because before you know it they will be grown!
